Damn, Out for a while now.

Figures. MRIs are back and lets add a blown disk at L5/S1 to the list. That's 12 weeks at best. I can't fricken BELIEVE this!!!

All just goofing around with a 16lb sheaf. I threw a 20lb sheaf twice a week for months on end and was feeling great. All I can say is great, just fricken great. Looks like pills and PT for me.

Dude, sorry to hear that. My wife says that bending and twisting will get ya. Good thing is you can rehab it...bad thing (and I'm no medical professional) this may mean a new technique in the sheaf (no twisting)) However, more good news my new technique requires no twisting to get the bag going backward. Man, I'm a technique junky! I don't even know how you did it, nevertheless, rest it and don't push it until it's ready.

Take it easy man,

Chris

Thanks buddy.

My secret has always been dumb strength ;-P

I'm showing the "dumb" part of it now.

Dumb....that reminds me of throwing off my concrete driveway in workboots....with lots of traction...meaning you can't spin around on the follow through and I sprained my knee so bad I thought I tore it up...it popped and not only did I feel it, but I heard it and it was LOUD...gross. See, we learn things like I'm dumb and I hate the stone. (Actually, I've junked the spin and moved to the glide). Reason being the glide is more efficient for me to transfer energy from the power position to the throw position (everything is moving forward) Unlike my spin, sometimes not everything is moving forward. The glide gives me a much higher avg on my throws (34ft vs 32ft), but I don't think the glide gives the farthest max throws (so far 35ft/glide vs 36ft/spin) compared to the spin if they're both done correctly.

One word of advice...watch video during your down time and make notes. Vierra doesn't have to be in your house for you to learn technique.

If he was in my house I'd be teaching him something... this is MY HOUSE sucka!

(Actually, I'd just be happy to throw again)

P.S. My stone is getting better too, I never spin though. I was finally in the low 30's (I think 34' is my best so far). I could reliably hit 32s, but that was when I could bend over. I'm sure my stone is ugly as sin now :-(

don't worry how your throws are at the moment...think of how you want them to be when you come back (form wise).
